Children & Youth Ministries
Children’s Ministry
“Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.” (Mark 10:14 ESV)
About Sunday Worship
Sunday begins with the kids worshipping together with their parents in the main worship.
After praise and prayer in the adult service, the kids are then dismissed to the Children’s program where we follow Lifeway’s Gospel Project for Kids curriculum.
The kids gather for a time of praise and hear God’s word. Following the message we break up into grade level Bible Study classes for a more in depth teaching of the day’s lesson.
The classes currently offered are:
18 months - 4 years old
K - 2nd grade
3rd - 5th grade
Safety
The safety of the children is amongst our highest priorities. Some of the measures we’ve taken to provide a safe and secure environment include:
Doors to the children’s area remain locked during the duration of the children’s program
All leaders/teachers are required to complete a background check
Two adults are present in each classroom
Preschoolers are only released to parents at pick-up

Please tell us briefly about your personal faith journey and how it has influenced your desire to work with youth in a church setting.
After receiving the assurance of salvation on a mission trip in Mexico, God fully entered my heart and I’ve come to fully devote my life to Christ since then. To be able to serve on a mission trip selflessly with love quickly translated into my life here in the States through a calling from God. Since then, serving the youth has been an absolute blessing and joy of mine that He has opened for me.
What strategies do you have for creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for youth from diverse backgrounds and experiences?
I truly believe that creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for youth ministry always starts with building genuine relationships with each young person. Learning to embrace and celebrate their unique backgrounds/culture creates a safe, non-judgmental, and fun space. We have made it a point to always offer activities that anyone could enjoy led by a trained diverse leadership group.
How do you plan to stay updated on current trends, issues, and challenges facing youth today, and how will you integrate this knowledge into your role with FYG?
The internet has been an incredible tool full of reputable God-fearing youth ministry leaders. By regularly updating myself on youth culture blogs and podcasts that pinpoint challenges facing the youth today, I plan on integrating this knowledge into tailoring our programs and activities to address current issues and interests of our own. My favorite blog so far has been The Disciple Project and my favorite podcast is Rethinking Youth Ministry!
